Tiny Motorsports
A downloadable game for Windows and macOS
A top down racer with casual driving mechanics but realistic racing strategy. With now 16 different tracks to visit and 2 car classes, customise your vehicle and go race!
GAME MODES
Championship Mode
Make a team and compete against a championship of randomly generated teams and drivers. You receive points after each round depending on where you place. The driver and team which has accumulated the most points after all 16 rounds are complete, wins.
Upgrade the car performance over the season using upgrade points you are given at the start of each season. You are given 3 choices. A safe upgrade for a guaranteed but small upgrade, a risky upgrade where you could gain big improvements but a chance to fail, or a random perk upgrade that can give you a range of bonuses.
The team that finishes last is swapped out for a new team. The other teams are given new performance values depending where they finished. All perks and any unspent upgrade points are reset too. Drivers will dynamically swap teams true to real life, best drivers will rise to the top, under performers will be dropped.
Custom Season
Similar to Championship mode, but just a single season and you cannot upgrade the car. Opponents, teams, rounds and rules are completely customisable during setup.
Single Race
One race event to compete in. You can choose the race and track options during race setup.
FEATURES
Tire Wear
If tire wear is enabled, your tires will wear down over time, so you must enter the pit and change them before they become unusable. Tires at 0% will be very difficult to use. There are 2 dry tires to choose from. It's best to plan your tire strategy before the race.
Weather System
If weather is set to simulation, rain may be present during the race. Wet tires work well in rain, so it may be best to pit for them if the weather gets really bad. Be warned wet tires don't work so well during dry weather.
Damage System
Hitting barriers and other racers will cause damage to your car. If you car falls to 0% health, you will be forced to retire from the race. Pitting will repair your car back to full health without costing any additional pit time.
1 Lap Qualifying
If enabled, before the start of every race, all drivers must do one lap to determine the order of the start positions for the race. Fastest lap time will start in first, slowest starts last. Enabled in Championship mode, optional in other game modes.
UPDATED JUNE 2025: Now with Championship Mode and updated graphics!
More features, more tracks, and more cars are on the way!

I’ve been keeping an eye on the game’s updates, and I’m now planning to review it. The game’s randomly lagging for me at times mid-race (I’ll leave a video to show this), so while I figure out the best setup to use for playback, I’ll just leave my current notes here.
I REALLY love the Custom Season mode. The freedom you have with all of the variables you can change is something I’m not used to seeing in racing games. This alone has kept me coming back to the game from time to time, even before the recent update.
Additionally, the Championship mode’s upgrade system is a really cool feature. I love the randomized elements; really adds to the feel of working with what you get. Some ideas for improving it:
Other issues that I think need addressing are:
Other additional features I’d like to see:
Thanks very much for these detailed notes and testing, it's incredibly valuable in making this game better. I pretty much agree with most of what you have written.
- Those stutters look horrible and something must be spiking to cause the issue. I will look into it.
- Upgrade points are intended to be like that for lower down teams. Once you start finishing higher in a season, you'll notice you'll start with more upgrade points. Emulates real life a little, where lower teams have less money, higher teams have more money to continue bringing upgrades all season. But I do think these mechanics need to be clearer to understand. So I plan to have a breakdown in the upgrade panel for this information. Sponsors will be implemented with this (some sponsors will give teams bonus upgrade points). Risk and safe upgrade values probably do need some balancing from testing, plus keen to add more perks too.
- The damage system will be looked at to make it matter more, it's a tricky one because the damage modifier feels too high on some tracks and too low on others.
- I think Brazil was one of the few tracks with very little AI change in the latest update, so there's still room for improvement. The arenas have admittedly had very little time spent on the AI due to their less serious novelty nature. But I definitely want to look at making the AI smarter on these in the intersections.
- AI in rain has been completely reworked this last update, and so I'm still perfecting their thought process on all the varying situations. It will get better from continued testing. Inter tyres would be great, but as you can see, the AI need to be perfected first with the 3 tyre options before throwing another into the mix.
- Spectator mode has been requested before. It's certainly the next feature to go in. There will be the option for spectator mode once the player finishes a race or DNFs. Also I will implement an option for fully AI races to spectate. Plus, I'm looking at the option for speeding up time to finish a race sooner.
- There are some known issues with the physics over track elevation. I reckon it has to do with the cars collider having sharp corners. Will look at a more rounded car collider to prevent these issues, fingers crossed.
- More options in custom seasons will be available soon, this includes enabling upgrades and setting initial upgrade points.
- I plan to look at alternative tracks layouts and such once the game has reached a nice even 20 tracks (only 4 to go!). Having them in reverse is a great idea as it's less work to implement than entire new circuit.
Thanks!
Such a solid foundation. AI is extremely entertaining and the races are so unpredictable with various pit strategies, weather and crashes. Please keep working on this game and release it on Steam. It has HUGE POTENTIAL!
Thanks, yes this is still being worked (just very slowly). The next update will be coming early 2025, which'll include the main championship mode, more tracks and other features. The plan is to eventually put it on steam once its closer to a finished product.
It’s been a year since I’ve done a gameplay video of this and now I made another one just to show what changes the developer made and this video is even longer than the previous.
Once again, nice work!
Thanks!!
Is it possible to have a better grip and a less drifty car? Also for the macOS download, it downloaded the iOS version, was that supposed to happen?
Every version I look at that car handling and I feel its at a good spot at the moment, the difting feels like an important part of the game. There is only windows and macOs versions, so that was a naming error in the last version. Thanks for spotting.
Great work on this game! Really fun to play, as well as challenging enough to keep you trying. The different cars, tracks and having to deal with strategy are great features that aren't in many free indie racers, and are usually not executed as well as they are in this one. It runs pretty well, even on my decade old macbook air. excited to see the future update with all the new features!
after some deep pondering, only thing i would ask is for a particle or quality reducer thing(?). something to reduce the amount of particles in the rain and blossoms or the pixels overall (i know nothing about game development so sorry if its vague) so that you customize it to make performance better. the other thing is that after the podium cutscene, when i try to go to the garage, it just freezes and buffers. I then have to force quit the game to get it back to working again. I dunno if this is just a problem i am having or if it is terminal.
Thanks for the feedback. Shame to hear you are having trouble on macOS, performance optimisation is definately something I will need to look into. I will see what I can do about the freezing when leaving a race. The good news is in the next v0.4 update, I am implementing an options screen where you can adjust the quality settings, which will hopefully help.
That sound great! One more thing, I don't know if you have thought about this already, but having there be some way to standardise car models in a tournament would be great. Having them all be different models can break the fun and there are some models that i just don't wanna race with that much. I know it can be changed in the custom tourney, but having that in the future tournament mode is a must for me.
can you make it zo you can chance the controls?
Nobody has ever done a gameplay video of this so I’m the only person who made that video.
Cheers buddy, nice job!
Thanks Joe. Glad you enjoyed watching my gameplay video!
Thanks!, i'll be definitely playing and trying to get 1st!
Good work bro! ..skidmarks would be ideal!
This game is awesome! Would love to see more maps added in the future
Nice work, your website is down btw
Cool and fun game, I enjoyed playing it! the maps are good, the logic is good, and the overall experience was pretty fun. the only trick, which i feel is intentional, is the static camera mixed with the lack of knowledge of where the course is, makes it so you can't do well unless you've played the course once or twice beforehand.
